Overview
The Horizontal Scroll widget displays your reviews in a continuously looping ticker that moves smoothly across the full width of the page. Because the widget relies on a side-scrolling animation rather than a static grid, the way cards and text appear can differ significantly between a wide desktop screen and a narrow mobile screen. A card that looks perfectly spaced on desktop may display truncated text or cramped spacing on a phone.
Feedspace includes a built-in preview toggle inside the widget editor so you can switch between Desktop and Phone views instantly, without embedding the widget or opening a separate device. This lets you confirm that the scrolling animation runs correctly and that review card text stays readable on narrow mobile screens before you publish.
How to Preview Your Horizontal Scroll Widget on Desktop and Mobile
Step 1: Open the Horizontal Scroll Widget Editor
Log in to your Feedspace account and navigate to the Share section from the main menu. Locate the Horizontal Scroll widget you want to check and click Edit to open its editor. If you have not created one yet, click Create Widget and select Horizontal Scroll from the widget type list.
Step 2: Locate the Preview Toggle in the Editor
Inside the widget editor, look for the preview panel on the right side of the screen. At the top of this panel you will see two toggle icons: one for Desktop and one for Phone. The Desktop view is selected by default when you first open the editor.
Step 3: Check the Desktop Preview
With the Desktop toggle active, observe the live preview of your Horizontal Scroll widget. Confirm that the ticker scrolls smoothly, that review cards are evenly spaced, and that the reviewer name, star rating, and review text are all visible without being cut off. Make any design adjustments in the left panel and the preview updates in real time.
Step 4: Switch to the Phone Preview
Click the Phone toggle to switch the preview to a mobile-width frame. The preview panel resizes to simulate a phone screen so you can see exactly how the Horizontal Scroll widget behaves on narrow displays. Pay close attention to the scrolling animation and verify that card text remains clear and legible at the reduced width. If text appears too small or cards overlap, return to the design settings and adjust font size, card padding, or scroll speed as needed.
Step 5: Save and Copy the Embed Code
Once you are satisfied with how the widget looks on both Desktop and Phone, click Save to confirm your settings. Then copy the embed code provided in the editor and paste it into your website wherever you want the Horizontal Scroll widget to appear.
What You Can Do Next
- Adjust the scroll speed or card spacing in the design settings and re-check both previews to confirm the Horizontal Scroll animation still looks smooth.
- Filter which reviews appear in the Horizontal Scroll widget by rating or source so only your strongest testimonials display in the ticker.
- Customize the card colors, fonts, and background of the Horizontal Scroll widget to match your brand before embedding it on your site.
- Copy the embed code and paste it into your website page or landing page to publish the live Horizontal Scroll ticker for your visitors.
