Hello everyone. It's my first post and I just want to share about a positive experience regarding hiring a private driver for our day trip.Had booked from klook originally, paid and confirmed. But when the driver contacted me, they wanted to add 20,000 yen to the original paid booking citing peak season as a reason. I respect that the drivers have a difficult job, long hrs and difficulties in maneuvering during winter season (especially) but I don't appreciate antics like quoting a fare to entice you to sign up then add on later. Thanks to a member here, I contacted the admin for this group for driver recommendation. I think the price he quoted was fair. We had the trip today and driver arrived punctually, was pleasant and polite, able to speak some English and drove very safely. The car was also clean and comfortable. We were able to complete eveything that we had planned for and was so glad that the klook one didn't work out. We already know that when we come back for a winter trip again, we will definitely engage a driver through the same company!Updated post: Itinerary Pick up at Sapporo hotel at 8am1. Ukimido park (Lake Toya)2. Silo Observation Deck (the view is pretty and you get to play with snowmobile and snow rafting. Note that it can get busy with tour groups. We arrived around 1015am and was one of the first to play.)3. Lake hill farm (lunch at the cafe and great area for snow play and view of Mt Yotei)4. Noboribetsu Date Jidai village5. Noboribetsu Jigokudani Valley6. Drop off at Sapporo city at 6pm (we actually manage to end at 530pm).
