How Do I Add a CNAME Record in Hostinger?

Last updated on June 15, 2026

Overview

With custom domain setup, you can display your review forms on your own branded domain instead of the default Feedspace link. In this guide, you will add a CNAME record in Hostinger to point a subdomain (e.g., reviews.yourdomain.com) to Feedspace.

Step 1: Log into Feedspace

Go to Feedspace and log into your account.

Step 2: Navigate to Custom Domain Settings

From the left sidebar, click Settings, then select the Custom Domain tab.

Step 3: Enter Your Domain

  • In the Custom Domain field, type the subdomain you want (e.g., reviews.yourdomain.com).
  • Note the CNAME target value shown on screen — you will need it when setting up DNS in Hostinger.

Step 4: Log in to Hostinger

  • Go to Hostinger and log in with your account credentials.
  • From your dashboard, click on Domains in the top navigation menu.

Step 5: Open Domain Management

  • Locate the domain you want to use for your Feedspace subdomain.
  • Click the Manage button next to that domain.

Step 6: Go to DNS / Nameservers

  • Inside the domain management panel, click on the DNS / Nameservers tab.
  • This will display all the current DNS records associated with your domain.

Step 7: Add a CNAME Record

  • Scroll down to the DNS Records section.
  • Click the Add Record button.
  • From the Type dropdown, select CNAME.

Step 8: Fill in the Record Details

  • Name: Enter the subdomain prefix (e.g., reviews). This becomes reviews.yourdomain.com.
  • Points to: Enter cname.feedspace.io as the target hostname.
  • TTL: Set to 3600 or leave as the default if 3600 is already selected.

Note: If your domain uses a proxy or CDN layer, make sure the CNAME is set to DNS only and not proxied. A proxied CNAME masks the target hostname and Feedspace will not be able to verify your domain.

Step 9: Save the Record

  • After entering all the details, click Save to apply the new CNAME record.
  • The new record will appear in your DNS Records list.

Step 10: Verify Your Domain in Feedspace

  • Return to Feedspace and click Verify Domain.
  • Once verified, Feedspace activates SSL automatically and your custom domain goes live.

Step 11: Check DNS Propagation

  • DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though most complete within a few minutes to a few hours.
  • Use dnschecker.org to confirm your subdomain is resolving to cname.feedspace.io before clicking Verify.
