Overview
LinkedIn Recommendations are the gold standard of professional social proof. Unlike star ratings or brief review snippets, they are written directly by former clients, colleagues, or managers on your LinkedIn profile, making them highly credible, detailed, and verifiable. For freelancers, coaches, consultants, and agencies, showcasing these recommendations on your WordPress site can significantly increase visitor trust and convert prospects into paying clients. Feedspace lets you import your LinkedIn Recommendations and embed them in a polished widget, so your professional reputation is visible wherever your audience lands first.
What You Need
- A Feedspace account with your LinkedIn Recommendations already imported
- A WordPress site where you want to display the recommendations
- The Feedspace WordPress plugin installed on your site
Step 1: Import Your LinkedIn Recommendations into Feedspace
Before you can display your LinkedIn Recommendations on WordPress, you need to import them into Feedspace. If you have not done this yet, follow the LinkedIn Recommendations import guide to bring your professional endorsements into your Feedspace account.
- Log in to your Feedspace account.
- Navigate to the Import Reviews section from the sidebar.
- Select LinkedIn Recommendations as your import source.
- Follow the on-screen steps to upload or connect your LinkedIn Recommendations and complete the import.
- Once the import is complete, your LinkedIn Recommendations will appear in your Feedspace reviews list, ready to be used in a widget.
Step 2: Create a Widget in Feedspace
Next, create a widget in Feedspace that will display your imported LinkedIn Recommendations. You can choose a layout that suits your WordPress page design.
- From your Feedspace dashboard, go to Share Reviews in the sidebar and select Widgets.
- Click Create Widget and give your widget a name, such as “LinkedIn Recommendations”.
- Choose a widget layout that works best for your site. Available options include:
- Grid: displays multiple recommendations side by side
- Carousel: scrolls through recommendations automatically
- List: stacks recommendations vertically for easy reading
- Masonry: arranges recommendations in a dynamic column layout
- Filter the reviews included in this widget to show only your LinkedIn Recommendations by applying the relevant source filter.
- Customise the widget appearance, including colors, fonts, and the number of recommendations shown, to match your WordPress theme.
- Click Save to finalise the widget. Feedspace will generate a unique widget ID for use in the next step.
Step 3: Install the Feedspace WordPress Plugin
The Feedspace WordPress plugin lets you embed your widget on any page or post using a simple shortcode, without touching any code.
- Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
- Go to Plugins and click Add New.
- Search for Feedspace in the plugin directory.
- Click Install Now next to the Feedspace plugin, then click Activate.
- After activation, go to the Feedspace settings page in your WordPress admin sidebar.
- Enter your Feedspace API key to connect the plugin to your Feedspace account. You can find your API key in Feedspace under Automation and then API.
- Save the settings to complete the connection.
Step 4: Add the Widget to Your WordPress Page
With the plugin connected, you can now embed your LinkedIn Recommendations widget on any WordPress page or post using the Feedspace shortcode.
- Open the WordPress page or post where you want to display your LinkedIn Recommendations.
- In the Gutenberg block editor, click the + button to add a new block and search for Shortcode.
- Add the Shortcode block to your page.
- Enter the Feedspace shortcode with your widget ID. The format is:
[feedspace_widget id="YOUR_WIDGET_ID"]
- Replace
YOUR_WIDGET_ID with the widget ID from your Feedspace widget settings.
- Click Update or Publish to save the page.
- Preview your page to confirm your LinkedIn Recommendations widget is displaying correctly.
Tips for Displaying LinkedIn Recommendations
LinkedIn Recommendations carry unique weight because they are tied to real, verified professional profiles. Each recommendation includes the recommender’s name, job title, and relationship to you, making them far more credible than anonymous reviews. To make the most of this social proof, consider placing your recommendations widget on high-intent pages such as your homepage, services page, or pricing page, where trust matters most for conversion.
- Place the widget above the fold on landing pages to capture attention early.
- Use the Grid or Masonry layout to display multiple recommendations at once and reinforce the volume of your endorsements.
- Feature recommendations from well-known companies or senior titles prominently by pinning those reviews in Feedspace before building your widget.
- Combine LinkedIn Recommendations with other imported reviews in a single widget to show breadth of social proof across platforms.
