How Do I Add a Shadow to Review Cards on My Vertical Scroll Widget in Feedspace?

Last updated on June 12, 2026

Overview

The Vertical Scroll widget in Feedspace displays your review cards in a continuously scrolling vertical feed that loops seamlessly, creating an always-moving stream of social proof on your page. Because each card passes through a single column one after another, visitors naturally focus on individual cards as they scroll into view. Adding a shadow to those cards lifts each one visually off the background, sharpening the boundary between the card and the page and making the looping feed feel more polished and immersive.

The Show Review Card Shadow toggle lives in the Widget Color Customization section of the Design tab. When you turn it on, three sub-options appear: Shadow Style (Blurred or Solid), Shadow Size (Small, Medium, Large, or X-Large), and Shadow Color (a color picker). Together these controls let you match the shadow treatment to your brand, from a subtle blurred drop-shadow that adds quiet depth to a bold solid shadow that gives the feed a graphic, high-contrast look.

How to Add a Shadow to Review Cards for Your Vertical Scroll Widget

Step 1: Open the Widgets Section

Log in to your Feedspace account and navigate to the Widgets section from the left-hand sidebar. You will see a list of all the widgets you have created.

Step 2: Edit Your Vertical Scroll Widget

Find the Vertical Scroll widget you want to update and click the Edit button next to it. This opens the widget editor where you can adjust both the content and design settings for that widget.

Step 3: Go to the Design Tab

Inside the widget editor, click the Design tab at the top of the panel. This tab contains all visual customization options for the widget, including colors, typography, and card styling.

Step 4: Locate the Widget Color Customization Section

Scroll down within the Design tab until you reach the Widget Color Customization section. This section groups together the card-level visual controls, including the shadow toggle you need.

Step 5: Enable the Show Review Card Shadow Toggle

Find the Show Review Card Shadow toggle and turn it on. Once enabled, three additional controls appear directly below the toggle.

Step 6: Choose a Shadow Style

Under Shadow Style, select either Blurred or Solid. Blurred produces a soft, diffused shadow that fades at the edges, giving the scrolling cards a natural floating appearance. Solid produces a hard-edged shadow with no feathering, creating a crisp, graphic look that works well for bold brand palettes.

Step 7: Set the Shadow Size

Under Shadow Size, choose from Small, Medium, Large, or X-Large. Smaller sizes add a subtle lift that keeps the feed feeling lightweight, while larger sizes create a more pronounced depth effect that draws the eye to each card as it scrolls into the viewport.

Step 8: Pick a Shadow Color

Click the Shadow Color picker and choose the color you want for the shadow. You can enter a hex code, use the color wheel, or adjust the opacity slider to match your page background or brand accent color. A shadow color that closely matches your brand palette keeps the widget looking intentional and cohesive.

Step 9: Save Your Changes

Once you are satisfied with the shadow settings, click Save to apply the changes. Your Vertical Scroll widget will now display the shadow on every review card as they loop through the feed.

What You Can Do Next

  • Add a border to your review cards to combine an outline with the new shadow for extra card definition in the scrolling feed.
  • Adjust the card background color in the Widget Color Customization section so the shadow contrasts well against both the card and the page background.
  • Preview your Vertical Scroll widget on a live page to confirm the shadow depth looks right at the scroll speed and card size you have configured.
  • Explore other Design tab options such as font style and card spacing to complete the visual treatment of your Vertical Scroll widget.
