How Do I Change the Text Color on My Vertical Scroll Widget in Feedspace?

Last updated on June 12, 2026

Overview

The Vertical Scroll widget displays your review cards in a continuously scrolling vertical feed that loops seamlessly, keeping visitors engaged without any manual interaction. Because cards slide past in a steady stream, clear and readable text is essential. If the text colors blend into the card background or clash with your site’s palette, visitors may miss key details before a card scrolls out of view.

The Widget Color Customization section for the Vertical Scroll widget gives you two independent color pickers to control every piece of text on each card. The Primary Text Color controls the review title and body text, which are the largest and most prominent elements in the scrolling card. The Secondary Text Color controls the reviewer name, date, and metadata, which appear in a smaller supporting role beneath the review content. Setting these two colors separately lets you create a clear visual hierarchy as each card moves through the feed, making the most important review content stand out while keeping contextual details legible but visually subordinate.

How to Change the Text Color for Your Vertical Scroll Widget

Step 1: Open the Widgets Section

Log in to your Feedspace account and navigate to the Widgets section from the main sidebar menu.

Step 2: Edit Your Vertical Scroll Widget

Locate your Vertical Scroll widget in the list. Click the Edit button (or the pencil icon) next to it to open the widget editor.

Step 3: Go to the Design Tab

Inside the widget editor, click the Design tab at the top of the settings panel. This tab contains all visual customization options for your Vertical Scroll widget.

Step 4: Find the Widget Color Customization Section

Scroll down within the Design tab until you reach the Widget Color Customization section. This section contains the color pickers for all customizable color elements on the widget.

Step 5: Set the Primary Text Color

Click the color picker next to Primary Text Color. This color applies to the review title and body text on every card in the scrolling feed. Choose a color that is highly legible against your card background and prominent enough to be read quickly as the card scrolls past. You can enter a hex code directly or use the color picker interface to select your brand color.

Step 6: Set the Secondary Text Color

Click the color picker next to Secondary Text Color. This color applies to the reviewer name, date, and metadata displayed beneath the review content on each card. Choose a color that is readable but visually lighter or more subtle than the Primary Text Color, so the review content remains the focal point in the scrolling feed. Enter a hex code or select the color using the picker.

Step 7: Save and Preview Your Changes

Once you are satisfied with both color selections, click Save to apply the changes. Use the live preview panel to check how the text colors appear across cards as they scroll through the feed. Verify that both the primary review content and the secondary reviewer details remain easy to read at a glance.

What You Can Do Next

  • Adjust the card background color to complement your new text colors and strengthen the overall visual hierarchy of the scrolling feed.
  • Customize other design elements on the Design tab, such as card border radius and widget background, to create a fully cohesive look for your Vertical Scroll widget.
  • Embed the updated Vertical Scroll widget on your website and test it on both light and dark page backgrounds to confirm the text colors remain legible in your live environment.
  • Explore other widget types in Feedspace to find the display format that best suits different sections of your site, then apply consistent brand colors across all of them.
