How Do I Enable Alternate Direction Scrolling on My Horizontal Scroll Widget in Feedspace?

Last updated on June 12, 2026

Overview

The Horizontal Scroll widget in Feedspace displays your review cards in a continuously looping ticker that moves across the page. By default, all rows of cards scroll in the same direction. The alternate direction scrolling option changes this so that adjacent rows scroll in opposite directions simultaneously, creating a dynamic, multi-directional visual effect.

When your Horizontal Scroll widget is configured with multiple rows, enabling this option causes even-numbered rows to scroll in the reverse direction while odd-numbered rows continue scrolling forward. The result is a layered, cross-scrolling animation that draws more attention to your reviews and makes the widget feel more engaging and visually distinct on your page.

This setting is found in the Layout Design section of the widget’s Design tab and can be toggled on or off at any time without affecting your review selection or other design settings.

How to Enable Alternate Direction Scrolling for Your Horizontal Scroll Widget

Step 1: Open the Widgets Section

Log in to your Feedspace account. From the left-hand navigation menu, click Widgets to open the list of all widgets you have created.

Step 2: Edit Your Horizontal Scroll Widget

Locate the Horizontal Scroll widget you want to update. Click the Edit button (or the widget name) to open the widget editor.

Step 3: Go to the Design Tab

Inside the widget editor, click the Design tab at the top of the panel. This tab contains all visual and layout settings for the widget, including scroll behaviour options.

Step 4: Find the Layout Design Section

Within the Design tab, scroll down to the Layout Design section. This section controls how the rows of review cards are arranged and animated within the widget.

Step 5: Enable the Alternate Direction Scrolling Toggle

Inside the Layout Design section, locate the scrolling animation toggle. Depending on your widget’s current scroll axis setting, this will appear as either Cross Scrolling Animation (for a vertical scroll layout) or Horizontal Scrolling Animation (for a horizontal scroll layout). Click the toggle to turn it on. Once enabled, adjacent rows of review cards will scroll in alternating opposite directions, creating the multi-directional effect across the widget.

Step 6: Save and Preview Your Widget

Click Save to apply your changes. Use the preview panel or visit the page where your widget is embedded to see the alternating scroll animation in action across the rows of review cards.

What You Can Do Next

  • Adjust the scroll speed of your Horizontal Scroll widget to control how fast each row moves across the page.
  • Increase the number of rows in your Horizontal Scroll widget so the alternating direction effect is more pronounced and covers more of the page.
  • Customise the card design, colours, and typography in the Design tab to complement the dynamic scrolling animation.
  • Copy the updated embed code from the widget editor and paste it into your website to publish the new alternating scroll layout to your visitors.
