Overview
The Strip Slider widget in Feedspace displays your reviews in a compact horizontal strip of cards that slides continuously across the page. Because the strip is narrower than a full-grid widget, how it renders at different screen widths matters a great deal: cards that look crisp and readable on a wide desktop monitor can become too small to read on a narrow phone screen, and the sliding motion itself may behave differently in a constrained viewport. The widget editor provides dedicated Desktop and Phone preview toggles so you can switch between both views instantly, without leaving the editor, and catch layout issues before you embed the widget on your site.
How to Preview Your Strip Slider Widget on Desktop and Mobile
Step 1: Open the Widget Editor
Log in to your Feedspace account and click Widgets in the left sidebar. Find your Strip Slider widget in the list and click the pencil (edit) icon on the widget card to open the editor.
Step 2: Navigate to the Preview Panel
Inside the widget editor, locate the live preview panel. This panel displays your Strip Slider as it currently appears based on your selected reviews and design settings. The preview updates in real time as you make changes in the editor.
Step 3: Switch to the Desktop Preview
At the top of the preview panel, you will see two toggle buttons: Desktop and Phone. Click Desktop to view the strip slider at full width. In this view, confirm that all card text is legible, star ratings are visible, and the strip scrolls smoothly across the available width.
Step 4: Switch to the Phone Preview
Click the Phone toggle to switch the preview to a narrow mobile viewport. Check that the cards are not too small to read and that the strip slides correctly on the narrower screen. Pay particular attention to reviewer names, review text, and star ratings, as these are the elements most likely to appear cramped when the viewport shrinks.
Step 5: Adjust Design Settings if Needed
If the Phone preview reveals any readability issues, switch back to the Design tab and make adjustments. Common fixes for the Strip Slider include increasing card padding, reducing the number of reviews shown simultaneously, or adjusting font size and card background contrast. After saving your changes, toggle back to the Phone preview to confirm the result looks correct before embedding.
What You Can Do Next
- Embed the Strip Slider: Once both the Desktop and Phone previews look correct, copy the embed code from the widget card and paste it into your website or CMS to publish the widget.
- Adjust the scroll speed: Return to the Design tab and use the Scroll Speed slider to fine-tune how fast the strip moves across the screen, ensuring it is readable on both desktop and mobile without feeling too slow or too fast.
- Customize card borders and colors: Use the border thickness, radius, and color options in the Design tab to make individual cards stand out clearly in the compact strip format on all screen sizes.
- Open a full public preview: Click the Preview icon in the widget editor header to open a live public preview in a new browser tab, then load it on an actual mobile device to verify the strip slider experience outside the editor.
