The Cross Slider widget in Feedspace displays your reviews using a distinctive cross-directional sliding transition, where full-focus review cards cycle through in a visually dynamic sequence. Because the Cross Slider places each testimonial front and centre during its transition, stale or lower-quality reviews become noticeable quickly. Visitors who return to a page with the same reviews cycling through the same transitions are less likely to find the widget compelling.

The Setup Automation feature removes that problem. You define a set of rules once, and any new review that matches those rules is automatically added to your Cross Slider’s rotation. This keeps the dynamic transitions always showcasing the freshest, most relevant testimonials, without any manual selection needed each time a new review arrives.

How to Set Up Automation for Your Cross Slider Widget

Step 1: Open Your Cross Slider Widget Editor

1. Log in to your Feedspace account.
2. Click Share Reviews in the left sidebar, then select Widgets.
3. Locate your Cross Slider widget and click the pencil (edit) icon to open the editor.
4. Go to the Select Reviews tab.

Step 2: Open the Automation Panel

Click the Setup Automation button inside the Select Reviews tab. The automation filter panel opens on the right side of the screen. Toggle automation on to activate it.

Step 3: Configure Your Automation Filters

Choose which reviews should automatically rotate through your Cross Slider. Because each card takes centre stage during its transition, combining filters ensures only your most impactful testimonials appear. You can apply one filter or combine several for more precise control:

• Star Ratings: Automatically include reviews rated 1 to 3 stars or 4 to 5 stars. For a Cross Slider, selecting 4 to 5 stars ensures every card that slides into the spotlight represents your strongest social proof.
• Review Sentiment: Filter by positive, neutral, or negative sentiment to control the tone of what cycles through the widget’s transitions.
• Review Type: Limit the Cross Slider to specific formats such as video, audio, text comments, highlighted text, images, or favourites.
• Keywords: Include reviews that contain specific words or exclude reviews with certain terms to keep the messaging on topic as each card transitions into focus.
• Reviewer Details: Only include reviews where the reviewer has a name, profile image, job role, or company, so every card that slides into view looks credible and complete.
• Review Forms: Pull reviews only from a specific form if you want the Cross Slider to focus on a particular product or campaign.
• Auto-Imported Sources: Include reviews from platforms connected to your auto-import, so new reviews from those sources enter the Cross Slider rotation automatically.
• Imported Review Sources: Filter by manually imported review platforms to target a specific source.

Step 4: Save Your Automation Rules

Click Save in the automation panel to store your filter configuration. Then click Save & Next in the editor header to apply the changes to the Cross Slider widget. From this point, any review that matches your filters will be added to the cross-slider rotation automatically.

Resetting Automation

To remove your automation rules, open the automation panel and click Reset. This clears all filters. You can then toggle automation off or define a fresh set of rules.
