How Do I Automate Notion Notifications with Zapier?

Last updated on June 26, 2026

Overview

Feedspace connects to Notion through Zapier, letting you automatically submit testimonials to Feedspace whenever a new item is added to a Notion database. This removes manual data entry and keeps your testimonial collection in sync with your Notion workspace.

Automation through Zapier is available on Professional and Business plans in Feedspace, and requires an Automation Secret Key for connection.

Step 1: Connect Notion to Zapier

  1. Log in to your Zapier account. Click + Create, then select Zaps.
  2. Click the Trigger block. A search box opens. Type Notion and select it from the results. Choose a trigger event (for example, New Database Item).
  3. Connect your Notion workspace by logging in with your credentials (Google, Apple, Microsoft, or Notion email).
  4. Once connected, select the specific Notion database where new items will trigger the automation.

Step 2: Configure the Feedspace action

  1. Choose Feedspace as the action app in Zapier.
  2. Select Submit Testimonial as the action event.
  3. In the Account field, click Sign in. A popup opens. Paste your Feedspace Automation Secret Key into the API Key field and click Connect.
  4. Map the required fields (Name, Email, Job Role, Company Name, Star Rating, and optional photo) with your Notion database properties.

Step 3: Customize and test the automation

  1. Customize how testimonial data from Notion should appear in Feedspace.
  2. Test the Zap to confirm that new database items in Notion automatically create testimonials in Feedspace.
  3. If the test is successful, click Publish to make the automation live.

Common questions

Where do I find my Feedspace Automation Secret Key?

Log in to Feedspace, click Automation in the left sidebar, and copy the value from the Automation Secret Key field on the Automation tab. If you have not created one yet, click Generate Automation Secret Key first.

Will old Notion items be submitted to Feedspace when I turn the Zap on?

No. The Zap runs on new database items added after it is published. Existing Notion records are not sent to Feedspace retroactively.

Can I submit testimonials from more than one Notion database?

Yes. Create a separate Zap for each Notion database you want to use as a source. Each Zap connects to one database and sends its new items to Feedspace independently.
