How Do I Enable Video and Audio Recording on My Feedspace Form?

Last updated on June 11, 2026

Feedspace supports video and audio recording on all modern browsers. If a reviewer is having trouble starting a recording, the checks below will identify the cause and get them recording in a few minutes.

What You Can Do

  • Collect authentic, high-converting video testimonials from any modern device
  • Give reviewers the flexibility to share in the format they prefer
  • Build a library of video and audio content for your website, ads, and social channels
  • Capture the emotion and tone that text testimonials cannot convey

Check 1: Recording Is Not Enabled on the Form

The most common reason is that the recording option is toggled off in the form editor.

  1. Open the form in the Feedspace form editor.
  2. Go to the Capture Review tab.
  3. In the Media Review section, check that Allow Media Review is toggled on.
  4. Make sure at least one of these is also enabled: Allow Video Recording, Allow Screen Recording, or Allow Audio Recording.
  5. Click Save.

Check 2: The Reviewer’s Browser Blocked Camera or Microphone Access

Browsers require explicit permission to use the camera and microphone. If a reviewer accidentally clicked Block, recording will not work.

Ask the reviewer to do the following in their browser:

  • Chrome / Edge: Click the lock icon in the address bar, find Camera and Microphone, and set both to Allow. Then refresh the page.
  • Firefox: Click the permissions icon in the address bar and remove any block on Camera and Microphone. Then refresh.
  • Safari: Go to Settings, then Websites, then Camera and Microphone and allow access for the form URL.

Check 3: The Form Is Accessed over HTTP Instead of HTTPS

Modern browsers require a secure connection before allowing camera and microphone access. Feedspace form URLs use https:// by default. If you are using a custom domain, confirm that SSL is properly configured for that domain to keep recording available for all reviewers.

Check 4: Unsupported Browser

Feedspace recording works on modern versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. It does not work in:

  • Internet Explorer (any version)
  • Very old versions of Safari (below version 14)
  • Some in-app browsers on mobile (e.g., the Facebook in-app browser)

Ask the reviewer to open the form link in a standard browser such as Chrome or Safari on their device.

Check 5: Device Has No Camera or Microphone

If the reviewer’s device does not have a camera or microphone, recording will not be available. In this case, enable Allow File Upload on the form so reviewers can upload a pre-recorded video or audio file instead — giving everyone a way to share their testimonial.

Frequently Asked Questions

A reviewer says recording worked before but now does not. What changed?

The most likely cause is a browser update that reset camera and microphone permissions to the default blocked state. Ask the reviewer to check their browser permissions again and re-allow access for the form URL.

Recording works on desktop but not on mobile. Why?

On iOS, camera and microphone access require Safari. Chrome on iOS uses the Safari engine and should work, but other mobile browsers may not support the required recording APIs. Advise mobile reviewers to use Safari.
