Overview
The Avatar Group widget displays a compact cluster of reviewer avatars alongside a star rating count and a trust headline, giving visitors an instant, social-proof snapshot. Because the widget stacks multiple review cards in a tight visual group, individual cards can blend together and lose definition, especially on light or white page backgrounds.
The Show Review Card Shadow toggle in the Widget Color Customization section adds a drop shadow behind each card in the group. This creates a subtle sense of depth that separates the cards from the background and from each other, making the clustered layout easier to scan at a glance. Once the toggle is on, you can fine-tune the effect with three sub-options: Shadow Style (Blurred or Solid), Shadow Size (Small, Medium, Large, or X-Large), and a Shadow Color picker to match your brand palette.
How to Add a Shadow to Review Cards on Your Avatar Group Widget
Step 1: Open the Widgets Section
Log in to your Feedspace account and navigate to the Widgets section from the left-hand sidebar. You will see a list of all widgets you have created.
Step 2: Edit Your Avatar Group Widget
Locate the Avatar Group widget you want to update and click the Edit option for that widget. This opens the widget editor.
Step 3: Go to the Design Tab
Inside the widget editor, click the Design tab at the top of the panel. This tab contains all visual customization options for the widget.
Step 4: Find the Widget Color Customization Section
Scroll down within the Design tab until you reach the Widget Color Customization section. This section groups all color and visual styling controls for the Avatar Group widget.
Step 5: Enable the Show Review Card Shadow Toggle
Locate the Show Review Card Shadow toggle and switch it on. Three additional controls will appear beneath it.
Step 6: Configure Shadow Style, Size, and Color
Use the three sub-options to dial in the exact look you want for your review card shadows:
- Shadow Style: Choose Blurred for a soft, diffused shadow or Solid for a hard-edged shadow with a retro feel.
- Shadow Size: Select Small, Medium, Large, or X-Large to control how far the shadow extends from the card edge.
- Shadow Color: Click the color picker to choose any color for the shadow. Use a neutral dark tone for a natural look or a brand color for a distinctive style.
Step 7: Save and Preview
Click Save to apply your changes. Use the live preview panel to confirm the shadow appears as expected across the review cards in your Avatar Group widget before publishing.
What You Can Do Next
- Add a border to your review cards alongside the shadow for an even more defined card appearance by using the Show Review Card Border option in the same Widget Color Customization section.
- Adjust the avatar cluster size and trust headline text in the Avatar Group widget settings to complement the updated card style.
- Embed the updated Avatar Group widget on your landing page or pricing page to maximize the social proof impact of the enhanced card design.
- Explore other design customization options, such as background color and font settings, in the Design tab to create a fully cohesive widget style.
