How Do I Shorten Long Reviews on My Avatar Blocks Widget in Feedspace?

Last updated on June 12, 2026

Overview

The Avatar Blocks widget displays reviewer testimonials in a structured block grid, with each block showing a reviewer’s avatar alongside their name, star rating, and review text. When your reviewers have left detailed, multi-sentence testimonials, each block can grow quite tall, making the overall grid uneven and requiring visitors to scroll further than necessary to browse all reviews.

The Shorten Long Reviews toggle, found in the Widget Content Customization section of the Design tab, addresses this directly. When enabled, review text that exceeds a few lines is automatically truncated within its block, and a read more link appears at the cut-off point. Visitors can click that link to expand the full text inline without leaving the page. This keeps every block in the grid a consistent, compact height, preserves the clean side-by-side layout the Avatar Blocks widget is known for, and lets visitors scan many reviews at a glance before choosing which ones to read in full.

How to Shorten Long Reviews for Your Avatar Blocks Widget

Step 1: Open the Widgets Section

Log in to your Feedspace account. In the left-hand navigation, click Widgets to open the Widgets section, where all your existing widgets are listed.

Step 2: Edit Your Avatar Blocks Widget

Find the Avatar Blocks widget you want to update. Click the Edit button (or the widget name) to open its settings panel.

Step 3: Go to the Design Tab

Inside the widget editor, click the Design tab at the top of the settings panel. This tab contains all visual and layout customization options for your Avatar Blocks widget.

Step 4: Locate the Widget Content Customization Section

Scroll down within the Design tab until you reach the Widget Content Customization section. This section groups the options that control what review content is displayed and how it appears inside each block.

Step 5: Enable the Shorten Long Reviews Toggle

Find the Shorten Long Reviews toggle and switch it on. Once enabled, any review text in your Avatar Blocks grid that exceeds the display limit will be truncated, and a read more link will appear so visitors can expand the full text on demand. Save your changes to apply the update to your published widget.

What You Can Do Next

  • Show or hide star ratings on your Avatar Blocks widget to control how much review metadata appears alongside each truncated testimonial.
  • Adjust other Widget Content Customization options, such as reviewer name display and date visibility, to further refine what each block shows.
  • Explore the full Design tab settings to customize colors, fonts, and block spacing so your Avatar Blocks grid matches your site’s visual style.
  • Copy the updated embed code or re-sync your widget placement on your website to ensure visitors see the new shortened review layout immediately.
