How to Automate Slack Notifications with Zapier Integration

Overview

Feedspace integrates with Slack through Zapier, enabling you to send automated notifications directly to your Slack channels whenever a new testimonial is received. This ensures your team is instantly updated without manually checking Feedspace.

Automation through Zapier is available on Professional and Business plans in Feedspace, and requires an API key for connection.

Step 1: Connect Feedspace to Zapier

1. Log in to your Feedspace dashboard.
2. Go to Automation in the left sidebar, then click the Automation tab and copy your Automation Secret Key.
3. Log in to your Zapier account and create a new Zap.
4. Select Feedspace as the trigger app.
5. Choose New Testimonial as the trigger event.
6. When prompted to connect your Feedspace account, enter your Automation Secret Key.
7. Test the connection to confirm Zapier can fetch testimonials.

Step 2: Add a filter

1. Insert a Filter by Zapier step.
2. Set the condition: Testimonial Type, (Text) Exactly Matches, Video.
3. This ensures only video testimonials proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Connect Slack

1. Add an Action Step and select Slack as the app.
2. Choose Send Channel Message as the action event.
3. Click Add Account and authorize Zapier to post messages in your Slack workspace.

Step 4: Configure Slack message

1. Pick the Slack channel where notifications should be sent.
2. Customize the message text, for example: “A new video testimonial was just submitted in Feedspace! View it here: {{Testimonial URL}}”
3. Test this step to confirm the Slack message is delivered correctly.

Step 5: Turn on the Zap

After successful testing, turn on your Zap. Every new video testimonial in Feedspace will notify your chosen Slack channel.
