How to Automate Discord Notifications with Zapier Integration

Overview

Feedspace integrates with Discord through Zapier, letting you automatically send channel messages whenever new testimonials are received. This keeps your Discord community or team instantly updated without needing to check Feedspace manually.

Automation through Zapier is available on Professional and Business plans in Feedspace, and requires an API key for connection.

Step 1: Connect Feedspace to Zapier

1. Log in to your Feedspace dashboard.
2. Go to Automation in the left sidebar, then click the Automation tab and copy your Automation Secret Key.
3. Log in to your Zapier account and create a new Zap.
4. Select Feedspace as the trigger app.
5. Choose New Testimonial as the trigger event.
6. When prompted to connect your Feedspace account, enter your Automation Secret Key.
7. Test the connection to confirm Zapier can fetch testimonials.

Step 2: Connect Discord

1. Add an Action Step and select Discord as the app.
2. Choose Send Channel Message as the action event.
3. Click Connect Account and log in to Discord.
4. Authorize Zapier to send messages to your Discord server.

Step 3: Configure Discord message

1. Select a channel (e.g., #general) where testimonials should be posted.
2. Customize the message text. You can pull dynamic fields from Feedspace. Example:
   • {{Reviewer Name}} has left us a testimonial.
   • Review and share it in Feedspace: {{Review Public URL}}
3. (Optional) Configure extra settings:
   • Ping Users, Roles, or @everyone: choose True or False.
   • Text to Speech: choose True or False.
   • Bot Name: enter a custom name to display as the message sender.
4. Run a test message to confirm everything posts correctly to your Discord channel.

Step 4: Turn on your Zap

After successful testing, publish and turn on your Zap. Every time a new testimonial is added in Feedspace, your selected Discord channel will automatically receive a notification.

• Set up a second Zap to also send Telegram or Slack notifications for the same testimonials.
• Add a Filter by Zapier step before the Discord action to send only video testimonials.
• Back up your video testimonials to Google Drive or Dropbox using a separate Zap.

Where do I find my Feedspace API key for Zapier?

Go to Automation in the left sidebar, then open the Automation tab. Your Automation Secret Key is shown there. Click Copy and paste it into Zapier when prompted.

Can I send notifications only for video testimonials?

Yes. Add a Filter by Zapier step between the Feedspace trigger and the Discord action. Set the condition to Testimonial Type exactly matches Video.
