Overview
Now and then the Feedspace dashboard may not look or behave the way you expect. You might see visual glitches, buttons or menus that are missing or in the wrong place, or a screen that simply stops responding to clicks. In almost every case this comes from something on the browser side, such as an outdated cached version of the page, an old browser, or an extension interfering with the page. The good news is that a few quick steps usually clear it up.
A common example: you log in to manage your reviews, the page loads halfway, and the sidebar buttons do not respond. You have not changed anything in your account, so the cause is almost always the page itself loading from an old cached copy. The steps below walk through the fixes in the order most likely to solve it.
Steps to fix a broken or frozen dashboard
- Do a hard refresh of the page. On Windows, press Ctrl+Shift+R. On Mac, press Command+Shift+R. This reloads the page while bypassing the old cached version, which fixes most display and responsiveness problems.
- Clear your browser cache. If a hard refresh does not help, clear the cached files in your browser settings, then load the dashboard again.
- Update your browser to the latest version. An out-of-date browser can render the dashboard incorrectly. Install any available update and restart the browser.
- Disable browser extensions or open a private window. Ad blockers, script blockers, and privacy extensions can interfere with the dashboard. Open an incognito or private window, which runs without extensions, and check whether the dashboard works there.
- Try a different browser. Loading the dashboard in another browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge, tells you quickly whether the issue is specific to your usual browser or its settings.
- Check your internet connection. A slow or dropped connection can stop the dashboard from loading fully. Confirm other sites load normally, and reconnect if needed.
- Contact support if a specific action keeps failing. Note what you were doing when it happened, which browser you were using, and any message you saw, then email support@feedspace.io with those details.
What’s next
Once the dashboard loads cleanly, carry on with whatever you were doing, whether that is checking your reviews, editing a widget, or updating settings. If a widget on your own website looked broken at the same time, see why your Feedspace widget is not showing after embedding. If recent changes are not appearing, see why your branding changes are not showing in Feedspace.
Common questions
Why does a hard refresh fix the dashboard so often?
Your browser keeps a cached copy of the dashboard files to load pages faster. When that cached copy is out of date, the page can render with missing buttons or stop responding. A hard refresh forces the browser to fetch the current files instead of the old ones, which clears up most of these issues.
How do I know if a browser extension is the cause?
Open the dashboard in an incognito or private window, which runs without your extensions enabled. If the dashboard works there but not in your normal window, an extension is the likely cause. You can then turn off your extensions one at a time to find which one is interfering.
Is the Feedspace dashboard mobile-friendly?
The Feedspace dashboard works best on a desktop browser, where you have the room to manage your workspace, reviews, widgets, and settings comfortably. You can open it on a mobile browser, but for full control of your workspace a desktop or laptop browser gives you the best experience.
Will trying these fixes affect my reviews or settings?
No. Refreshing the page, clearing your browser cache, switching browsers, or opening a private window only affects how the dashboard loads in your browser. Your reviews, widgets, and settings are stored in your account and stay exactly as they are.
