How Do I Add a Shadow to Review Cards on My Horizontal Scroll Widget in Feedspace?

Overview

In a Horizontal Scroll widget, review cards glide sideways across the page in rows. Adding a shadow gives each card a little lift, which helps the moving cards stand out against a plain background.

Turn on Show Review Card Shadow under Widget Color Customization to reach three settings: Shadow Style (Blurred or Solid), Shadow Size (Small to X-Large) and Shadow Color. A blurred, small shadow looks natural on most sites, while a solid one gives a flat, graphic look.

How to add a shadow to review cards on your Horizontal Scroll widget

Step 1: Go to the Widgets page

Step 2: Edit the Horizontal Scroll widget

Find the Horizontal Scroll widget and click its Edit (pencil) icon.

Step 3: Open Design

Click Design in the row of tabs at the top.

Step 4: Reach Widget Color Customization

Scroll down the right-hand panel to Widget Color Customization.

Step 5: Turn on Show Review Card Shadow

Switch on Show Review Card Shadow. Shadow Style, Shadow Size and Shadow Color appear beneath it.

Step 6: Choose a shadow style

Under Shadow Style, select Blurred for a soft shadow or Solid for a hard-edged one.

Step 7: Set the shadow size

Drag the Shadow Size slider between Small, Medium, Large and X-Large.

Step 8: Pick a shadow color

Click the Shadow Color swatch or enter a hex code.

Step 9: Save

Click Save & Next to apply the shadow. The embedded widget refreshes on its own, so the embed code does not change.

Common questions

Can I use a shadow and a border at the same time?

Yes. Show Review Card Border and Show Review Card Shadow are independent toggles in the same section.

Why can’t I see the shadow toggle?

It is hidden while Enable Dark Mode is on. Turn dark mode off and it comes back.
