Overview
The Strip Slider widget displays your reviews as compact, horizontal sliding cards, making it ideal for embedding in tight spaces such as website headers, sidebars, and footers. Because each card has limited display area, the reviews you choose matter more here than in other widget types. Very long reviews may be truncated in the strip layout, which can cut off important content and reduce visual impact.
The Select Reviews tab inside the Strip Slider widget editor includes a search input and a filter panel that let you narrow down your review library by review type, source platform, star rating, sentiment, and labels. Using these tools, you can quickly surface shorter, high-quality reviews that display cleanly inside the compact strip cards, without having to scroll through your entire collection manually.
How to Search and Filter Reviews for Your Strip Slider Widget
Step 1: Open Your Strip Slider Widget Editor
Log in to Feedspace and navigate to the Widgets section from your dashboard. Locate the Strip Slider widget you want to edit and click on it to open the widget editor. If you have not created a Strip Slider widget yet, click the button to create a new widget and select the Strip Slider type from the available options.
Step 2: Navigate to the Select Reviews Tab
Inside the Strip Slider widget editor, locate the tab bar near the top of the editor panel. Click the Select Reviews tab to open the review selection interface. This tab shows your available review library alongside the search input and filter panel controls.
Step 3: Use the Search Input to Find Reviews by Keyword
At the top of the Select Reviews tab, you will find a search input field. Type a keyword, reviewer name, or phrase into the search box to instantly filter the review list to entries that match your query. This is useful for locating reviews that mention specific products, features, or use cases that you want to highlight in the strip. For the Strip Slider layout, search for concise phrases that will read well in a short card format.
Step 4: Open the Filter Panel
Next to or below the search input, locate the filter panel toggle or the filter controls. Click to expand the filter panel. The panel exposes multiple filter dimensions you can apply individually or in combination to refine the list of reviews shown.
Step 5: Filter by Review Type
Use the Review Type filter to limit results to a specific format, such as text reviews or video reviews. For the Strip Slider widget, text reviews are the most suitable choice because the compact horizontal cards are designed to display short written content. Filtering to text reviews at this step reduces visual noise in the selector and keeps your focus on reviews that fit the strip card layout well.
Step 6: Filter by Source Platform
Use the Source Platform filter to show only reviews collected from a specific platform, such as Google, G2, Trustpilot, or reviews submitted directly through a Feedspace form. If your Strip Slider is embedded on a page targeted at a particular audience, displaying reviews from a platform they recognise can increase credibility and engagement.
Step 7: Filter by Star Rating
Use the Star Rating filter to restrict the list to reviews that meet a minimum quality threshold. For a Strip Slider, showing only four-star and five-star reviews ensures that every card in the sliding strip reflects positively on your product. Select the desired star rating range from the filter options to apply it.
Step 8: Filter by Sentiment
Use the Sentiment filter to surface reviews that have been tagged with a positive, neutral, or negative sentiment classification. For the Strip Slider widget, filtering to positive sentiment reviews ensures the sliding cards present an upbeat, trust-building impression to visitors who see the widget as they scroll past it.
Step 9: Filter by Labels
Use the Labels filter to show only reviews that have been tagged with a specific label in your Feedspace account. Labels let you organise reviews into groups such as “homepage,” “short,” “feature-X,” or any custom category you have defined. For the Strip Slider, applying a label such as “short” or “concise” gives you a curated pool of brief reviews that display without truncation in the compact card format.
Step 10: Select Reviews from the Filtered Results
After applying your search query and filter combinations, the review list updates to show only the matching reviews. Browse the filtered results and click on the reviews you want to add to your Strip Slider widget. Selected reviews are highlighted or marked with a checkmark to confirm they have been added. Once you are satisfied with your selection, save your changes in the widget editor.
What You Can Do Next
- Adjust the Strip Slider widget display settings to control the card width, slide speed, and number of visible cards so the selected reviews fit the strip layout correctly.
- Set up automation rules on your Strip Slider widget to automatically include newly collected reviews that match your preferred rating and sentiment criteria, keeping the strip fresh without manual updates.
- Copy the Strip Slider embed code from the widget editor and paste it into the tight space on your website, such as a header bar, pricing section divider, or footer area, where the horizontal format works best.
- Label short reviews in your Feedspace review library so you can quickly filter to them the next time you build or update a Strip Slider widget, saving time on future curation.
