The Avatar Group widget presents a compact cluster of reviewer profile photos alongside a star rating count and a short trust headline. Its strength is in conveying social proof at a glance, so the display area is intentionally tight. When a reviewer submits a lengthy testimonial, that full text can push the widget out of proportion, overwhelming the compact visual layout and drawing attention away from the avatar cluster and star count that make the widget effective.
The Shorten Long Reviews toggle, found in the Widget Content Customization section of the Design tab, solves this by truncating long review text after a few lines and replacing the remainder with a “read more” link. Visitors who want the full detail can click to expand the text inline. This keeps your Avatar Group widget visually balanced, loads faster on smaller screens, and ensures that the rating count and reviewer avatars remain the focal point of the social proof element.
Log in to your Feedspace account. In the left navigation menu, click Widgets to open the list of all widgets you have created.
Locate the Avatar Group widget you want to update. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) next to that widget to open the widget editor.
Inside the widget editor, click the Design tab at the top of the panel. This tab contains all visual and layout configuration options for your Avatar Group widget.
Scroll down within the Design tab until you reach the Widget Content Customization section. This section groups together options that control how review text and other content elements are displayed inside the widget.
Find the Shorten Long Reviews toggle and switch it on. Once enabled, any review text that exceeds a set number of lines will be automatically truncated in the widget display. A read more link will appear at the cut-off point, allowing visitors to expand the full review text if they choose. Click Save to apply the change to your widget.
