How Do I Use Automation to Auto-Select Reviews on My Avatar Slider Widget in Feedspace?

Overview

Automation lets your Avatar Slider widget in Feedspace pick up new reviews on its own. You set rules once in the Automated Selection panel, and any new review that matches them is added to the slider.

The Avatar Slider puts the reviewer’s face at the centre, so a rule like “only reviews with a reviewer photo and 4 or 5 stars” keeps it looking full and credible as fresh reviews arrive, without you returning to tick them by hand.

Steps to set up automation

Step 1: Open the slider in the editor

From the Widgets page, press the pencil-shaped Edit icon on the Avatar Slider you want to automate. You land on its Select Reviews tab.

Step 2: Click Setup Automation

Above the review list is a banner titled Automate Review Selection. Click the Setup Automation link inside it.

Step 3: Set your rules

The Automated Selection panel replaces the review list. Choose any of these:

Reviewer Details: toggles to require a Reviewer Name, Reviewer Image, Reviewer Job Role or Reviewer Company.
Review Type: toggles such as Show Video Reviews or Show Reviews with Images.
Star Rating: tick 1 Star through 5 Stars.
Review Label, Review Forms, Auto-Imported Reviews From and Imported Review Source: limit where reviews come from.
Review Sentiment: Positive, Negative or Neutral.
Keywords: Included Words a review must contain, or Excluded Words that rule it out.

A summary of your rules appears at the bottom of the panel as you choose.

Step 4: Click Save Selection

Click Save Selection at the bottom of the panel. From now on, new reviews that match are added to the slider. Automation is part of Feedspace’s paid plans; on a plan without it, an Upgrade Plan window opens instead.

Common questions

Does automation add reviews I already have?

No. The summary at the bottom of the panel says it plainly: only new reviews that match are added. Select existing reviews yourself on the Select Reviews tab.

How do I clear my rules?

Open the panel again and click Reset, next to Save Selection, then save.
