How Do I Use a Custom Email Sender for My Form Automation in Feedspace?

Last updated on June 22, 2026

By default, your automation emails are sent from reviews@feedspace.co and your workspace name appears as the sender. On a paid plan you can switch to Send from my own email or domain so every email arrives from your own address and brand name. You can configure this using either SMTP or Amazon SES, whichever matches your email setup.

What You Can Do

  • Send automation emails from your own domain instead of the Feedspace shared address
  • Configure your sending infrastructure via SMTP or Amazon SES
  • Set a reply-to address so customer replies go directly to your inbox
  • Test your connection before activating to confirm everything is working correctly

Step 1: Open the Automation Tab

  • Log in to Feedspace and go to Forms in the left sidebar.
  • On the form card, click the Edit (pencil) icon to open the editor, then click the Automation tab.
  • Scroll to the Who’s it from? section (section 3).

Step 2: Select Your Sender Option

You will see two options:

  • reviews@feedspace.co: Easiest setup. Emails ship instantly from the shared Feedspace address. Your workspace name shows in the customer’s inbox.
  • Send from my own email or domain: Use your own email or domain so emails appear fully under your brand. Select this option and choose either the SMTP or Amazon SES tab.

Step 3a: Configure SMTP

Fill in the following fields on the SMTP tab:

  • Send-from email address: The email address that appears in the From field (e.g., reviews@acme.com).
  • “From” name: The display name shown to recipients (e.g., Acme Reviews).
  • SMTP host: Your SMTP server hostname (e.g., smtp.gmail.com).
  • Port: Default is 587. Use 465 for SSL connections.
  • Username and Password: Your SMTP login credentials.
  • Encryption: TLS (recommended), SSL, or None.

Click Test connection to verify your settings before saving.

Step 3b: Configure Amazon SES

Click the Amazon SES tab and fill in the following fields:

  • Send-from email address and “From” name: Same as the SMTP fields above.
  • AWS Access Key ID and Secret Access Key: From your IAM user that has SES send permissions.
  • AWS Region: The region where your SES account is configured (e.g., us-east-1).

Click Test connection to verify your SES credentials before saving.

Step 4: Set a Reply-To Address

Below the sender options you will see If customers reply, where should it go? Enter the email address where you want customer replies to land. It defaults to your Feedspace account email but can be changed to any address.

Step 5: Save or Activate

Click Save draft to save your sender settings without going live yet, or click Activate to save and start the automation immediately.

Common Questions

Is a custom sender available on all plans?

No. The Send from my own email or domain option requires a paid plan. On free plans, all automation emails are sent from the Feedspace shared sender.

Do I need to re-enter my password every time I save?

Yes. For security, SMTP passwords and AWS secret keys are never stored visibly. If you edit any field in the custom sender section, re-enter your credentials and run the connection test again before saving.
