How Do I Use a Custom Email Sender for My Form Automation in Feedspace?

Last updated on June 11, 2026

By default, your automation emails are sent through Feedspace’s shared sender. On a Professional or Business plan you can replace this with your own sending infrastructure, either via SMTP or Amazon SES, so every email arrives from your own domain with your brand name in the From field. This builds sender reputation and keeps the experience consistent for your customers.

What You Can Do

  • Send automation emails from your own domain instead of a Feedspace address
  • Build sender reputation by routing through your own SMTP or Amazon SES account
  • Set a custom reply-to address so customer replies go directly to your inbox
  • Test your connection before activating to confirm everything is working correctly

1. Open the Automation Tab

  • Log in to Feedspace and go to Forms in the left sidebar.
  • Open the form and click the Automation tab.
  • Scroll to the Who Is It From? section.

2. Select Custom Sender

Choose Custom sender from the sender options. Two provider tabs appear: SMTP and Amazon SES. Select the one that matches your setup.

3a. Configure SMTP

Fill in the SMTP fields:

  • From address: The email address that appears in the From field.
  • From name: The display name shown to recipients.
  • Host: Your SMTP server hostname.
  • Port: Default is 587. Use 465 for SSL.
  • Username and password: Your SMTP credentials.
  • Encryption: TLS (recommended), SSL, or None.

3b. Configure Amazon SES

Fill in the SES fields:

  • From address and From name: Same as SMTP above.
  • AWS Access Key ID and Secret Access Key: From your IAM user with SES send permissions.
  • AWS Region: The region where your SES account is configured (e.g., us-east-1).
  • Enable event tracking: Toggle on to track delivery and bounce events via SES.

4. Test the Connection

Click Test connection. Feedspace sends a test message through your configuration. A green check confirms the connection is working. The test must pass before you can save the custom sender settings.

5. Set a Reply-To Address

Enter a Reply-To email address. This is where customer replies will land. It defaults to your Feedspace account email but can be changed to any address.

6. Save the Draft

Click Save Draft. Your custom sender is now configured and will be used for all emails in this automation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a custom sender available on all plans?

No. The custom sender option requires a Professional or Business plan. On free plans, all automation emails are sent from Feedspace’s default sender.

Do I need to re-enter my password every time I save?

Yes. For security, SMTP passwords and AWS secret keys are never returned by the API. If you edit any field in the custom sender section, you must re-enter your credentials and run the connection test again before saving.
